{"id":263,"date":"2020-01-23T16:26:03","date_gmt":"2020-01-23T16:26:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/?p=263"},"modified":"2020-01-23T16:26:03","modified_gmt":"2020-01-23T16:26:03","slug":"steamed-prawn-and-pork-wontons","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/index.php\/2020\/01\/23\/steamed-prawn-and-pork-wontons\/","title":{"rendered":"Steamed prawn and pork wontons"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-264\" src=\"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/chinese1-a-200x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/chinese1-a-200x300.jpg 200w, https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/chinese1-a.jpg 467w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 200px) 100vw, 200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>100g peeled prawns, chopped<br \/>\n160g minced pork<br \/>\n1 tsp grated fresh ginger<br \/>\n1 tsp crushed fresh garlic<br \/>\n1 tbsp grated carrot<br \/>\n1tbsp chopped white cabbage<!--more--><br \/>\n2 tbsp finely sliced spring onion<br \/>\n1 tsp sesame oil<br \/>\n2 tbsp oyster sauce<br \/>\nPepper<br \/>\n35 wonton wrappers, thawed<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the dipping sauce<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2 tbsp soy sauce<br \/>\n2 tbsp rice wine vinegar<br \/>\n1 tbsp sesame oil<br \/>\n1 tsp grated fresh ginger<br \/>\n1\/2 tsp finely chopped red chilli<\/p>\n<p><strong>Method:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. In a bowl mix the prawns, pork, ginger, garlic, carrot, cabbage, spring onion, sesame oil, oyster sauce and pepper to taste.<\/p>\n<p>2. For the dipping sauce, mix together all the ingredients and put into a dipping bowl.<\/p>\n<p>3. Lay out a sheet of wonton paper and lightly brush the outside edges with water. Put 1 tsp of the pork and prawn mix in the centre and scrunch up in a tight pouch, making sure the sides are sealed. Repeat until you have used up all the mix.<\/p>\n<p>4. Fill a large saucepan with 10-15 cm of water and place a steamer inside. Line the steamer with baking parchment or Napa cabbage leaves to prevent the wontons from sticking to the steamer.<\/p>\n<p>5. Bring the water to a boil and place the wontons in the steamer making sure they are not touching. You will have to do this in batches.<\/p>\n<p>6. Steam the wontons for approximately 10 minutes and remove to a serving platter with tongs. Continue until all the wontons are cooked ensuring that the water does not boil dry.<\/p>\n<p>7.
