{"id":297,"date":"2020-01-29T13:57:18","date_gmt":"2020-01-29T13:57:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/?p=297"},"modified":"2020-01-29T13:57:18","modified_gmt":"2020-01-29T13:57:18","slug":"vegetarian-tandoori-kebabs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/index.php\/2020\/01\/29\/vegetarian-tandoori-kebabs\/","title":{"rendered":"Vegetarian Tandoori Kebabs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-298\" src=\"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/vegetarian-tandoori-kebabs-300x169.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/vegetarian-tandoori-kebabs-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/tipsforahealthylife.eu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/vegetarian-tandoori-kebabs.jpg 705w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-block hidden-xs hidden-sm\">Ingredients<\/div>\n<ul class=\"ingredient-list\">\n<li>225g paneer, cubed into 1 1\/2 inch cubes<\/li>\n<li>150g fried tofu puffs, cubed into 1 1\/2 inch pieces<\/li>\n<li>150g cassava (or potato), peeled, cubed into 1 1\/2 inch pieces and boiled until al dente<\/li>\n<li>100g baby button mushrooms wiped clean<\/li>\n<li class=\"ingredient-header\">For the tandoori paste<\/li>\n<li>1 tsp whole coriander seeds<\/li>\n<li>6 black peppercorns<\/li>\n<li>2 dried Kashmiri chilies<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp fine cornmeal<\/li>\n<li>1-inch cassia bark<\/li>\n<li>1 1\/2 tsp cumin seeds<\/li>\n<li>1-star anise<\/li>\n<li>4 cloves<\/li>\n<li>Seeds of 4 cardamom pods<\/li>\n<li>5 tbsp concentrated tomato puree<\/li>\n<li>3 cloves garlic, crushed<\/li>\n<li>2 tsp ginger, minced<\/li>\n<li>2 tbsp dark brown sugar\/muscovado sugar<\/li>\n<li>Juice of 2 lemons<\/li>\n<li>2-3 tsp salt or to taste<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp plain Greek yogurt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"title-block hidden-xs hidden-sm\">Method<\/div>\n<div class=\"method-list\">\n<p>To make the paste: Combine the coriander seeds, peppercorns, Kashmiri chilies, cassia bark, cumin seeds, star anise, cloves, cardamom seeds and cornmeal in a dry frying pan.<\/p>\n<p>Gently toast the spices on low heat, moving around constantly until aromatic (3-5 minutes). Don\u2019t let the spices catch and scorch.<\/p>\n<p>Place the dry-roasted spices in a pestle and mortar or in a small blender and grind to a fine powder.<\/p>\n<p>Add the tomato puree, sugar, salt, lemon juice, garlic, yogurt, and ginger and blend again until smooth. Add 3-5 tbsp water if needed.<\/p>\n<p>Bring a pan of salted water to the boil and add the cubed paneer and tofu. Gently boil for 4 minutes and drain. This softens them up for the marinade.<\/p>\n<p>Combine the paneer and tofu, along with the cassava (or potatoes) and mushrooms with the tandoori paste and combine gently.
