7 Signs You Are Smarter Than Most People

Spread the love

It seems like we live in a time where you’re “weird” for being smart, and being stupid gets more praise and attention these days.

I always stay away from stupid people who say stupid things and make stupid decisions daily without learning from their stupid mistakes.

I hope everyone becomes more authentic one day.
Life becomes more fulfilling if you strive to be smarter every day than striving to get more attention every day. If you have a brain, use it for good.

Becoming a smarter person is the best asset you will give to yourself.

If you have always wondered why you stand out compared to the rest of the crowds, these seven signs show that you are smarter than most people.

1 . You Are An Introvert.
It doesn’t matter if you are an introvert or an “extroverted introvert”: You still appreciate time for yourself. You get to know your authentic self by being in your own company.

When you’re an introvert, you have no problem being alone. Most people are afraid of being alone for even one day, and I believe it’s a valuable skill most humans lack.

Why? When you spend time by yourself, you get to know yourself better; you learn to be authentic and set healthy boundaries.

When you are alone most of the time, you have time to watch educational videos and read books based on personal growth.

You understand yourself better, and being alone helps you to think deeply about everything happening in this world.

Spending time alone means you can think for yourself, whereas in social life, you will likely have people think for you.

I do sense that I lose a sense of who I truly am if I spend a lot of time with people who don’t think as deeply as I do and don’t fully accept me as who I am.

You realize what is important and what’s not important.

2 — You Are Curious To Understand.
Albert Einstein once said, “I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.”

Kids are better at being curious; if you say or show something to a child, they will ask questions. If you say or show something to an adult, they will judge you instantly.

Most children are willing to show curiosity to understand where most adults think they know everything already with a sense of arrogance.

Once you become curious, you become smarter and wiser.
The best student asks questions, and it doesn’t matter how stupid the question sounds. You always learn from your failure and mistakes. You see them as feedback.

Walt Disney once said: “We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

Before you react with irrational emotions, stop for a moment and ask the other person, “What do you mean by saying that?”

You should always be more curious than judgemental.

3 . You Are Able To Control Yourself.
I’m no psychologist, but it’s obvious that people addicted to gambling have no self-control. It’s the same with people who buy expensive stuff they can’t afford to impress fake people. It comes from this quote:

“We buy things we don’t need with money we don’t have to impress people we don’t like.” ~ Dave Ramsey.
Every once in a while, I would see products and feel the urge to buy them, but I step away and remind myself how the product is an unnecessary liability and not an important asset.

If you really want to buy a product, buy stuff that is a good investment for your lifestyle, such as workout equipment, anti-blemish skincare products, or supplements for your overall health.

“Stop letting people who do so little for you control so much of your life.” ~ Will Smith.
I know the advice of applying meditation more to your daily life has become a bit over-saturated, but it’s still one of the most profound pieces of advice I’ve had in my life.

This mindful routine helps you to stay calm when your thoughts are out of control. It allows you to make better decisions, you realize some things are, not worth buying and you become a less angry person over time.

4 . You Read a Lot of Books.
“ I read books and talked to people. I mean, that’s kind of how one learns anything. There are lots of great books out there & lots of smart people.” ~ Elon Musk.
Reading books is a great exercise to be a great listener with the intent to understand a story or a situation.

If you want to be smarter, try to read self-help books that make you think and see the world in a different light.

If you want to get smarter, try to read a few books this year.

Being smart is a super attractive trait to have.
People who read books are willing to digest new information in their life, which is why they read a book in the first place.

The books we read can change the way we think about life.

Apps like TikTok have decreased your attention span, but reading books will increase your attention span (if you allow it to.)

Once you read a self-help book, you become smarter, have leveled up, make positive changes in your life, and think in a way you didn’t before.

5. You Travel Around the World.
Traveling around the world (except in sketchy places) can expand your awareness and how you perceive the world.

Traveling around the world is an education in itself.

There is indeed a difference between watching traveling videos on YouTube and experiencing traveling in the real world. There is a huge difference.

After coming home from a vacation, you become a brand new person.

A traveler has seen more in this world than a person who has never traveled in their life.

The more experience you have, the smarter you become.
Traveling makes you richer:

You meet local people.
You hear a new language.
You become more educated about the country.
You learn more about the country’s culture.
It expands your knowledge about the world.
Angelina Jolie once said in her speech:

“It was only when I began to travel and look and live beyond my home that I began to understand my responsibility to others. And when I met survivors of war and famine and rape, I learned what life is like for most people in this world. And how fortunate I was to have food to eat, a roof over my head, a safe place to live, and the joy of having my family safe and healthy. I realized how sheltered I had been, and I was determined never to be that way again.”

^ I hope this helps you to realize the importance of traveling and how it can give you more knowledge in this life.

6. You Don’t Think You’re Smart.
Socrates once famously said, “I know that I know nothing.”

That makes you smart because humble people tend to be the smartest people because they know what is important: To make an impact on people.

The most famous people like Princess Diana were beautifully humble, yet she was a smart woman who did humanitarian work.

Being a smart, humble person is a rare thing these days.
She never bragged about being smart or better than anyone.

She just did good things because it felt right in her heart.
I know that Michael Jackson came with lots of wisdom in his interviews, but he never bragged about being smart: he just said many things that made you think twice and the importance of living a joyful life.

It’s better to live that way than thinking you know everything and telling everyone how stupid they are.

I think humility is a sexy trait to have.
If you ever said something that made you look dumb, you would say: “Wow, that was stupid of me. You are right, and I will never do that again.”

What happens when you don’t think you’re a smart person? You want to know, do, and be better every day.

You naturally come up with lots of wisdom, not thinking you’re smart, but it makes people tell you, “Wow, you are such a smart person, I think you should know that.”

7. You Have Love For Humans and Animals.
“You can judge a man’s true character by the way he treats his fellow animals.” ~ Paul McCartney.
You don’t want to hurt a fly because every living being deserves to matter. You feel sad if you see dead birds lying on the street or see a dog being abused.

You always judge a person based on how they treat animals and children. That tells you a lot about someone.

Dogs are brilliant animals; they can sense bad vibes from far away and would bark at a person who has bad intentions.

I believe that people who treat animals like sh*t have no ethics, morality, or empathy for anyone but themselves. They live with this sad ignorance.

You can (somewhat) see the type of parent your partner would become based on how they treat animals.

Does your partner abuse animals? If they abuse animals, they will abuse their children as well. Be sure never to have children with them.

The Bottom Line.
If you consider yourself smart, be with people who have the desire to be smarter every day.

When you are smarter, you become unforgettable to most people, and why is that exactly? Because you’ve left an impact on people.

You appreciate the small things in life that most people take for granted: Listening to the sound of nature, observing the beautiful colors around you, saying thanks for what life offers you, and loving classical music.

Those who hate you are jealous of your intelligence; they wish to be as smart as you but fail to try.

To me, being smart is about being a simple person.
You explain things in a simple way, you treat everyone with respect, you have ethics, morality, and compassion, you are funny to be around, and everyone feels like they can be themselves around you.

You are a simple person to be around, not a difficult person to be around.

But it seems like most people lack these simple skills these days:

Everyone is arrogant and never thinks about how their words affect other people.

Never be afraid to be smart.

To be smart is to be a great human being.
